Voyo Changes Subscription Model, Some Fans Will Pay More. How Much Does Premier League or Niké Liga Cost Now?

The summer break is definitively over, and Europe's top football leagues are back in action. However, thousands of Slovak fans faced an unpleasant surprise with the weekend start of the English Premier League. Streaming service Voyo revamped its offering in early August, moving its most sought-after football content into a new, more expensive package.

The previous subscription model is now a thing of the past. As of August 10, 2026, the platform has transitioned to a new three-tier structure. Fans of English football and women's world tennis will feel the biggest hit to their wallets.

Canal+ Sport 1 to 8 channels, previously a standard part of the Maximum package, are now only available in the new extended subscription. Fans will pay €14.99 per month for the "Voyo Maximum with Canal+ Sport" package with a monthly or quarterly commitment.

How to Avoid the Price Hike?

However, the operator has left a backdoor open for viewers who wish to maintain the original price of €11.99. Long-term loyalty is key. Platform representatives confirmed that by purchasing special 6 or 12-month vouchers directly through the service's website, the monthly cost will effectively revert to the original level.

The Mid-Tier Still Packed with Sports (Including Niké Liga)

Customers who don't consider the Premier League essential can keep the mid-tier Voyo Maximum package for an unchanged €11.99 per month.

For many domestic fans, there's one crucial and positive piece of news – the Slovak Niké Liga remains a firm part of this original package. The price for watching our domestic football will not increase.

Despite the departure of the English league, this package retains a huge amount of top-tier sports. Viewers will not miss out on the prestigious UEFA Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League. Spanish LaLiga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, and French Ligue 1 will also remain on screen.

Motorsport enthusiasts will also find their fix with Formula 1 and MotoGP, fans of intense UFC bouts, and lovers of overseas leagues like the NHL and NBA. The offering is rounded out by standard content and Markíza group TV channels, complemented by popular movie and documentary channels.

What if you have an old subscription?

Markíza also considered existing customers. If you managed to activate a Voyo Maximum voucher by August 10, 2026, you will enjoy Canal+ Sport channels without any additional charges until your current subscription period expires.

Those who were not satisfied with the new terms were given the option to terminate their contract free of charge. All they had to do was contact customer support by the aforementioned deadline and request a refund for the proportional part of the money for the unused period.
