Victor Agali scores 2 goals as Ex-Super Eagles beat Team Lagos 2-0 at Tinubu's novelty match [Photos]
A host of prominent names were present for the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu novelty football match.
The game was organized to celebrate the birthday of the former Lagos State governor who is now a presidential aspirant.
Present at the occasion were Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare; Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Nigerian Ambassador to Spain, Demola Seriki and several public office holders at federal and state levels.
The game took place on Sunday, March 20, 2022 to honour Tinubu the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in celebration of his 70th birthday.
The game took place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos between ex-Super Eagles players and Team Lagos.
Organised by the Tinubu Support Group in conjunction with the Lagos State Government Tinubu, who kicked off the ball to begin festivities.
SQUADS
Team Lagos was captained by the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Mudashiri Obasa. Other members of the team are Waidi Akanni, Godwin Okpara, Friday Ekpo, Sanni Doherty, Akeem Ogunlade, Wasiu Ipaye, Taiwo Oloyede, Yusuf Ayinla and Alhaji Gafar, among others.
The ex-internationals team also included; Nwankwo Kanu, Peter Rufai, Ike Shorunmu, Taribo West, Garba Lawal, Mutiu Adepoju, Victor Ikpeba and Abiodun Obafemi, among others.
The ex-Super Eagles players were led by Austin Jay Jay Okocha and would defeat Team Lagos 2-0.
Victor Agali scored two goals for the ex-Super Eagles players to get the win. His first was in the 10th minute when he converted a ball from Julius Aghahowa.
Agali scored his second in the 22nd minute from a cross by Okocha. The game was filled with fun as the crowd appreciated Tinubu for all he has done.
