Valencia continues to bolster its roster for the new season, officially announcing the signing of former NBA player Mouhamadou Gueye. The Spanish club is banking on the 28-year-old forward to bring added height, athleticism, and defensive stability to the team.
This move marks Gueye's first foray into European basketball, as his entire professional career to date has been spent in the United States, competing in both the NBA and the G-League.
The forward made his NBA debut with the Toronto Raptors during the 2023/24 season. In 11 appearances for the Canadian team, he averaged 2.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 10.9 minutes per game.
He also played for the Chicago Bulls, but his most impactful performances came in the G-League. During the 2025/26 season with the Windy City Bulls, the 206-centimeter (6'9") basketball player averaged 15.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 0.8 steals in 34 regular-season games, starting in 16 of them.
With the acquisition of Mouhamadou Gueye, Valencia adds a versatile and experienced player to their squad, who will now look to make a successful transition to the European basketball scene.
