Nantes coach Vahid Halilhodžić faces a potentially severe penalty for his conduct during the 1-1 draw against Brest. The incident occurred when the referee sent off Nantes defender Dumen Tabibou, prompting the Bosnian coach to verbally confront fourth official Florent Batta, reportedly even making physical contact.

The coach was ejected from the dugout and was heard shouting, "Aren't you ashamed?" at the match officials.

"I'm furious; I don't understand the red card. I didn't understand the referee's decisions. The young referee told me not to speak so I wouldn't be punished. I don't care if they ban me for ten years because I've already retired from football. But when I see such injustices, I react. I didn't understand the card; I asked them to explain it to me. There needs to be some respect; who does this guy think he is?" commented the experienced coach after the match.

According to disciplinary regulations, he could face a two-match ban for inappropriate behavior, and an additional suspension of up to five months for threats. It is highly probable that he will be barred from leading the team for at least the remainder of the season.
