Oscar Pistorius has been found guilty of culpable homicide in the February 14, 2013 shooting death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
However, he will not be sentenced until October 13, Judge Thokozile Masipa has said.
The Guardian reports:
Pistorius has been convicted on two charges and the prosecution and defence will present aggravating or mitigating circumstances before sentencing, which is not expected for at least six weeks.
Before handing down her sentence, Masipa will have pre-sentencing documents drawn up. Various parties will be consulted, including probation and correctional supervision officers to outline what they believe the sentence should be.
Pistorius, who faces a maximum jail term of 15 years, will be out on bail until the final sentencing.
