Enugu Gov. urges fervent prayers to tame criminality
Gov.
He made the call during a service to mark 2016 Catholic Mothering Sunday at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Federal Housing, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu.
He commended Monsignor Obiora Ike, also the Chairman of the Enugu State Economic Advisory Committee, for his selfless service to the state and humanity in general.
He said ``prayers had become necessary in view of the increasing incidences of crimes and other anti-social activities in different parts of the country.
``I believe that prayers will do so much in checking the menace of herdsmen/farmers clashes, cases of rape, armed robbery, kidnapping, pipeline vandalism, among others.''
Earlier in a sermon, Prof. Ike had said that ``Mothers Day is a demonstration of God’s love for mankind.
``Mothers should play their roles effectively in their various families.''
He urged the nation’s leaders to imbibe the culture of leaving good legacies while in office.
