Social networking service’s CFO's account hacked

The account of Twitter's own Chief Financial Officer, Anthony Noto was hacked on Tuesday. For 20 minutes the account was posting spam messages to his followers.

Twitter’s Chief Financial Officer, Anthony Noto yesterday, Tuesday, February 10 was a victim to hackers who successfully gained access to his account.

For about 20 minutes, a series of spam messages were being tweeted from Noto’s account.

According to who reported the hack, Anthony Noto’s account was hijacked around 11:10 a.m and recovered by 11:30.

Nearly 300 spam tweets were sent to some of Noto’s 13,000 followers during the 20 minutes successful hacking attempt.

There has been no official comment yet from Twitter on how the account was hacked.

Tech Crunch also speculates that the hacking might be a successful attack because of the spams messages rather than a sort of political message which is usually a result of a coordinated attack.
