Just 24 hours after the account of its Chief Financial officer was hacked, a host of other Twitter users have complained about their accounts being locked by the social media platform.

The users receive an e-mail of a notification their accounts had been locked out by Twitter.

The baffled users have speculated on what would have made Twitter to lock them out. While some assumed that they were locked out because “follow back every account that follows them” others wonder that they may have just tweeted alot.

The email from Twitter to its users says that each locked account “appears to have exhibited automated behavior that violates the Twitter Rules,” and that the lock was put in place to “protect Twitter from unauthorized logins.”

Twitter in a statement confirmed receiving complaints from users and revealed that they are currently working on it.
