Transfer Market: Unimpressive at FC Porto, Moffi Now Leaves Nice on a Discount
Nice has reportedly accepted an offer from Hamburg for Nigerian forward Terem Moffi, according to Nice-Matin. The 27-year-old, who spent the latter half of last season on an unconvincing loan spell at FC Porto, now needs to finalize personal terms with the Bundesliga club for the transfer to go through.
Nice's management was keen to offload the striker's substantial salary, as he is under contract until 2027. This financial relief would allow the French club to invest in their primary target, Elye Wahi from Frankfurt, although negotiations for a paid loan deal have yet to make significant progress.
For the deal to be completed, only Moffi's agreement with Hamburg remains, a club that has expressed interest in the player for several weeks.
Ineos, Nice's owner, initially hoped to sell the player for a fee close to the €8 million option clause negotiated with FC Porto last winter. However, they ultimately accepted a lower financial offer due to a lack of other interested parties.
