2 Dead As Boat Capsizes In Lagos

Tragedy struck in the Igando area of Lagos on Wednesday, October 1 when a boat capsized leading to the death of 2 people.

A female victim was identified simply as Fatima while the man who died was named as Mr. Idowu Lawal.

The boat was said to have left Akesan on a journey to Imoshe in Ogun State but it was overwhelmed by the tide.

14 people were however rescued but the exact number of passengers the boat was carrying before the accident is still unknown.

Police officers attached to the area have reportedly arrested two boat operators with a view to finding out what exactly happened.
