10 Die As Boat Capsizes In Port Harcourt

A boat has capsized in the Rivers state capital, Port Harcourt leading to the deaths of 10 people.

The incident occurred early today and the boat in question was reportedly carrying 35 people.

According to the Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA), Mr Onimode Bandele, the search for survivors is still on.

He said:

“We can confirm that 10 persons died early today when a Port Harcourt-bound passenger boat sank. Rescue efforts are ongoing and the agency is already working with other bodies and security agencies in the rescue efforts.
