Several Arsenal players, particularly Ben White, were visibly annoyed when Rayan Cherki started showboating with the ball while their team was trailing 2-0. In fact, the English defender made sure to take down Cherki as 'revenge' for the Frenchman's perceived disrespect.
Former Arsenal player, Thierry Henry, speaking to "Betway", emphasized that there was no issue with the French attacking midfielder's actions: "All I know is my team lost, his team won, and he can take as many selfies as he wants. For me, it's not even a topic of discussion. Rayan is a special player who will do special things. I had him as a player for the French Olympic team, and he's going to do extraordinary things."
City and Arsenal are set to clash again, this time in the Premier League, with the 'Gunners' holding a comfortable nine-point lead, albeit with a game in hand. Henry isn't sure how much the previous result will impact his supported team, but he's eager to see them seek revenge in the upcoming derby.
"City had to show some answers based on what was happening in the Premier League, and they did that, unfortunately for us. Now, we'll have to see if the result will have an impact on the title race or not. I'm not sure if it will. It's one competition we lost; now try to win the league and see what you can do in the Champions League and the FA Cup. I saw the players talking after the game, and they were disappointed. It's never easy to lose a final, but move on from it and make sure that when you face City again at the Etihad, you set things right."
