Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is set to be available for the start of the 2026/27 Spanish league season, according to reports from Spain. Medical examinations have confirmed that the Belgian shot-stopper has not sustained a serious injury.

Initial reports had suggested that Courtois might miss the beginning of the campaign due to an injury picked up during the 2026 World Cup.

Courtois was injured during Belgium's 2-1 quarter-final loss to Spain at the World Cup. He was forced off in the 71st minute, and his replacement subsequently made a crucial error leading to the decisive goal that sent Spain through to the semi-finals.
