The doctors were suspended indefinitely after going on strike for about 2 months

The Federal Government has reversed its recent decision to sack the 16,000 doctors who work in the Nigerian public sector.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu through his spokesperson, Dan Nwomeh.

The doctors were sacked on August 13, 2014 after the FG announced the suspension of the  residency training programme.

The reinstatement took effect from yesterday, Thursday, August 28, 2014.
