Luka Dončić suffered a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, for which he has opted to seek treatment in Europe.

Following consultations with the Los Angeles Lakers' medical staff and his own personal medical team, Luka Dončić has made the decision to leave the United States.

Sports medicine specialist Evan Jeffries explained that the Slovenian star is seeking treatments in Europe that are not available in the same form elsewhere.

"In the U.S., stem cells are under strict FDA oversight. The difference in Europe is that regulations are more lenient, allowing stem cells to be manipulated, which significantly boosts their potency in reducing inflammation and repairing tissue," Jeffries stated.

Dončić sustained the injury in the third quarter of the Lakers' loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, with an MRI conducted Friday afternoon in Dallas revealing the extent of the strain.

The team announced he would be sidelined for at least the remainder of the regular season.

Dončić's first full regular season with the Lakers concluded with the eight-year veteran leading the league in scoring (33.5 points), alongside 8.3 assists (third in the NBA), 7.7 rebounds (second among guards), and 1.6 steals (sixth in the league) across 64 appearances.
