The upcoming movie is a remake of the 1960 western film of the same name, which was a remake of the 1954 Japanese film "Seven Samurai."

In the upcoming 2016 remake, desperate townspeople hire seven mercenaries (Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeier and Byung-hun Lee) to battle a ruthless industrialist (Peter Sarsgaard) in the Old West.

The movie also stars Matt Bomer, Billy Slaughter, Vinnie Jones,  Haley Bennett, and Wagner Moura.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, "Magnificent Seven" also marks the third pairing of Denzel Washington and Fuqua after "Training Day" and "The Equalizer."

Sarsgaard, who plays the villain Bartholomew Bogue, took the role after Jason Momoa turned down the role.

"Magnificent Seven" premieres on September 23, 2016. The movie was earlier scheduled for a January 2017 release.
