Madrid's iconic stadium is temporarily swapping football for tennis! According to Spanish reports, the Santiago Bernabéu will serve as a training ground for the Mutua Madrid Open, scheduled between April 23rd and May 3rd.
A section of Real Madrid's renowned stadium will be transformed into tennis courts, offering participating athletes an unprecedented training facility just minutes from their accommodation.
With Real Madrid playing three consecutive away matches after hosting Alavés on April 21st or 22nd, this initiative will greatly benefit the male and female athletes competing. Instead of lying dormant, the stadium will be repurposed into a luxurious training hub for the tour's top tennis players. The main draw and matches of the tournament will, as usual, take place at the Caja Magica between April 22nd and May 3rd for both the ATP and WTA tours.
