"That's money down the drain": Eddie Hearn comments on Conor Benn vs. Regis Prograis
Eddie Hearn doesn't seem to believe Zuffa Boxing got a good return on their investment in Conor Benn. The manager and promoter shared his thoughts on last weekend's boxing match between Conor Benn and Regis Prograis, effectively announcing an end to his working relationship with boxers managed by Benn's manager, Keith Connolly. Here are some of his comments to the media.
On Benn's fight under the Zuffa banner
"It was wild. I mean, that was like a 'how to throw money away very quickly' manual from Zuffa Boxing."
On Benn's manager
"Look, right now I have absolutely no desire to work with Keith Connolly again. In time, in a year, in three years, things might change. But right now... we told Keith Connolly recently, we withdrew our offers a few months ago for Berlanga and Hitchins. I think we have one or two more fighters with him, but I assume that will end too. It is what it is."
Why he believes Dana White won't invite Benn back for a Zuffa fight night
"Because it sets a precedent for how fighters are paid."
