Laura Robson has received a wildcard into Wimbledon, having only returned from a 17-month injury lay-off over the weekend.

Former British number one Robson made her comeback from a wrist injury that required surgery via qualifying at the Aegon International on Saturday.

The 21-year-old's return - her first match since the 2014 Australian Open - ended in a 6-0 6-1 defeat to Daria Gavrilova on the grass courts at Eastbourne.

"I've definitely felt worse, but I've also felt better - to be honest, I think in a way it was a victory to just finish a match and be back on court, back playing tournaments, and I'm very happy," Robson said afterwards.

"I still went out there with the intention of winning, though. You never go out there just hoping to get through a match. But it was a lot closer than the score suggested, that's the way I thought anyway.

"Now I know what I can do, and I still have so much work to do."

Robson has not featured at Wimbledon since 2013, when she lost to Kaia Kanepi in the fourth round.

The season's third grand slam gets underway at the All England Club on June 29.
