Ex Nigerian international Taribo West has described the Super Eagles coaching situation 'a mad drama'.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria has been without a coach for several months now as the Nigeria Football Federation and Stephen Keshi have been engaged in a prolonged contract dispute.
undefined according to Pulse Sports sources.
Ex Inter and AC Milan defender in an interview with Vanguard newspaper, said the whole situation looks like a 'mad movie' to him.
"This whole thing has been like a mad movie to me. It has been madness to say the least," the 1996 Olympic gold winner said.
Taribo West also opined that the Super Eagles of Nigeria does not need a foreign coach like many have suggested and suggested that the NFF should stick with indigenous coaches and give them free hand to do their jobs.
"I don’t think that is necessary for Nigeria," Taribo West said of foreign coaches.
"We have a lot of coaches who can do well if given the chance to succeed, but the problem is that our own coaches are never allowed to work without strings being attached.
"We have someone like , , .
"I believe that every one has his time, which should be given to him.
"And come to think of it, we won the 2013 African Cup of Nations, with an indigenous coach. We should be able to celebrate our own rather than victimise them and make them look bad at any given opportunity."
Taribo West is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a defender.
West represented the Nigerian national team in the 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cups.
