The day's play was abandoned just before 13:00 local time (02:00 GMT) as rain continued to hit the SCG.

Just 86.2 overs have been played over the four days, with rain interrupting days one and two before day three was also abandoned without any play.

West Indies are sitting at 248-7 after winning the toss and electing to bat.

Kraigg Brathwaite scored the majority of those runs with 85, while Carlos Brathwaite chipped in with 69.

With three wickets still in the shed, Denesh Ramdin and Kemar Roach remain at the crease, should play recommence on day five.

Nathan Lyon (2-78) and James Pattinson (2-67) have taken multiple wickets for the hosts.
