The Super Falcons will take on their French counterparts in a friendly game on Friday, April 6 at the Stade MMArena, Le Mans.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and newly unveiled head coach Thomas Dennerbyinvited 17 players for the encounter and later sent a call-up to newcomer Sophia Omidiji, with three-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala missing from the Falcons as she was stopped by her club Dalian Quanjian.

All 18 players have reported to the training camp in France and preparations have started for the encounter.

Nigeria’s football body confirmed that the team and officials have all arrived and are staying at the Mecure Hotel in France.

The NFF official Twitter account posted a series of pictures to show off the players being put through their paces in France ahead of the encounter.

The eight-time champions of Africa take on the French team who are ranked 5th in the world and called up 23 players for the clash.

After a bronze medal at the WAFU Women’s Cup, the Falcons take on France in preparation to defend their African title later this year at the African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana which is scheduled to hold from Saturday, November 17 till Saturday, December 1.
