Super Eagles legend reveals how Osimhen can win Serie A

Former Super Eagles midfielder Henry Nwosu has given his opinion on Victor Osimhen's quest to win the Italian Serie A with Napoli.

Nwosu believes that only scoring goals for Napoli would not help him make the Luciano Spalletti champions at the end of the season.

Osimhen has already scored two (2) goals in just two Serie A matches this season, finding the back of the net against Hellas Verona and Monza.

Nwosu praised Osimhen's efforts so far this season, highlighting the 23-year-old's goalscoring start as a big positive for the team.

In an interview with Complete Sports, the 59-year-old ex-Nigerian international stated that Osimhen needs to stay injury-free if he is to help Napoli win the league this season.

Nwosu said: "Osimhen has been positive since the start of the Serie A season with Napoli going by his goalscoring form.

"I pray he remains consistent and also be free from injury because if he maintains this form he can lead Napoli to the Serie A title this season."

Napoli is chasing the Serie A title again after falling off the race last season despite starting the season on the front foot.

Napoli's 2021/22 Serie A campaign got derailed when Osimhen suffered an injury in December 2021 and was out of action till February 2022.

The Nigerian international came back to still finish as the Partenopei's highest goalscorer last season, bagging 18 goals and six assists in all competitions during the 2021/22 season.
