The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in Abuja after their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign in Egypt.

Nigeria finished third in AFCON 2019 where they played seven games with five wins and two losses. 

Although they could not get to the final, the Super Eagles ensured they would not leave Egypt empty-handed with a 1-0 win over Tunisia in the third-place game played on Wednesday, July 17. 

After their campaign, the Super Eagles jetted out of Egypt and arrived in Abuja around 11: am on Friday, July 19.

The contingent was welcomed by President Muhammahdu Buhari who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha.

The Super Eagles arrived in Abuja without a host of their teammates. 

Odion Ighalo has gone back to China to join his club side Shanghai Shenhua while Mikel Obi is already in London with his family.

The likes of Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong also did not make the trip to Nigeria.
