Sunderland Back Manager Le Bris Despite Sitting Bottom of Premier League

Sunderland's hierarchy continues to have full faith in manager Régis Le Bris and has no immediate plans to replace him, according to the BBC. The Black Cats have registered just one Premier League win so far this season and remain rooted to the bottom of the table following a 3-1 defeat to newly-promoted Coventry over the weekend.

However, the North East outfit firmly believes the Frenchman can turn things around. The board is understood to be prioritising stability and collective responsibility in their push for improvement, with a home clash against Chelsea looming on Sunday ahead of the international break.

Le Bris arrived at Sunderland from Lorient in 2024 and guided the club back to the Premier League in his debut campaign, ending an eight-year top-flight absence. A year later, the 50-year-old tactician steered the Black Cats to an impressive seventh-place finish, sealing Europa League qualification. That marked the club's first European campaign in 53 years, with Bulgarian side Levski among their group-stage opponents. Sunderland have recorded two wins and a draw in the Europa League main phase so far, and host Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday.
