During her parade at the State Police Command, the Commissioner of Police, Zannah Ibrahim, said Idi was arrested after she used a knife to kill her son and then buried his corpse in a shallow grave in her family compound.

"The remains of the baby has been exhumed and will undergo autopsy while the stained knife has been kept as an exhibit," Ibrahim said, promising that the police will get to the root of the matter as it has commenced investigations into the murder.
