Steph Curry was voted the Western Conference Finals MVP after the Warriors beat the Mavericks in Games 5 to book a spot in the 2022 NBA Finals.

The Golden State Warriors recorded a 120-110 victory against the Dallas Mavericks in Game five of the Western Conference Finals played on Thursday, May 27, 2022.

The Warriors lost to Game 4 to the Mavericks at the American Airlines Center in Dallas but would respond in front of their home fans at the Chase Center.

The Warriors took the first quarter 28-23 and ran riot 41-29 in the second quarter to take a comfortable lead at the halftime break.

The Mavericks took the third quarter 32-25 as the fourth quarter was tied at 26 for both teams.

The Warriors came into Game five with the mindset of closing the series and started off strong.

Led by Draymond Green's tenacity the Warriors established their dominance early in the game as the match the Mavericks shot making.

With a closer lead in the fourth quarter, Warriors big man Kevon Looney stepped up to deliver rebound after almost every missed shot creating several second chance opportunities.

In the end, the Warriors overpowered the Mavericks despite a late resurgence by Luka Doncic to end the series 4-1.

With the victory, the Warriors now return to the NBA Finals as they make their sixth appearance in the last eight years.

Warriors guard Steph Curry was voted as the winner of the Earvin 'Magic' Johnson Western Conference Finals Most Valuable Player award.
