IBK Spaceshipboi will be joining forces with musicians from 17 different countries to create new music. The singer will be representing Nigeria at this year’s 1BEAT music fellowship.
The ‘Loving you’ crooner was chosen along side 25 other musicians across the world from countries including Egypt, Russia, Cuba, Zimbabwe, the United States of America and Venezuela. For the past four years, OneBeat has been bringing together musicians from all over the world to collaborate creatively and create an impact on their communities through music.
“It feels great to be chosen. I’m pumped and ready to go, meet new people and learn new things”, IBK Spaceshipboi told Pulse Nigeria.
“The aim of the program is to show music goes beyond cultural barriers”, he said.
The music producer/ singer shared with Pulse Nigeria that alternative soul singer Bez informed him of the program and he applied. He initially submitted his application for 2014 but made this year's cut.
In February 2014 the recording artist released a visual compilation for his debut album: 'I Come In Peace', which was originally released in 2013.
The 1BEAT music program made up of workshops and tours kicks off on October 12, 2015 to November 11, 2015 in Saratoga, California.
"Music is a universal language and it breaks cultural, ethnic, religious and language barriers. That's why we have set out to show the world the power of OneBeat" said IBK Spaceshipboi.
