Angela is the best oh..Cooks the best meals." He let out a satisfied sigh, "And she rocks my world in that other department."

"What do you expect me to do Nonye? She's a ticking time bomb. We are definitely calling the police" Jermaine said in a rush as he picked up his phone.

"Please doctor, let her stay." Nonye pleaded. Jermaine tried to ignore the tears he saw forming in her eyes. Nonye was compassionate, maybe too much so.

"Nonye..." Jermaine was interrupted by Promise, the second doctor who worked with Jermaine.

"My favorite man". He said with a cheeky smile. He got to Jermaine's table and stretched his hand for a handshake.

Jermaine ignored the gesture. He looked up at Promise with a frown.

"Ah ah. What is it? Can't a man enjoy the thrills of just getting married?" Promise said. Sinking lazily on one of the chairs opposite Jermaine's table.

"You enjoyed so much you forgot you have a job here." Jermaine said, with his frown. "I really should fire you."

Promise chortled, "I know you have it all under control. Everyone knows you're the best doctor around." He crossed his legs on the table.

"Take your dirty feet off my table." Jermaine said with clenched teeth.

Nonye smiled. Watching the two best friends arguing back and forth was always fun. Promise was the laid back and playful one. It was shocking that he finally shackled himself to a woman after swearing to die a bachelor. Angela just came into his life and changed everything. Nonye was scared for Jermaine. He was Promise's exact opposite and with his hardened heart, Nonye was scared that he might never find his own Angela.

"You really should try fun sometimes J.J. This your over serious attitude nawa." Promise said, taking his feet off the table. He turned to Nonye, "Babe, what's up?"

She smiled back at him and nodded her head in response. "Married life is really treating you good sir. You look like you doubled in size since the last time I saw you." Nonye observed.

"Ah...Angela is the best oh..Cooks the best meals." He let out a satisfied sigh, "And she rocks my world in that other department." He winked at Nonye who burst out in laughter.

"Back to the issue of the girl." Jermaine said in an effort to restore order. Senseless chatter and laughter annoyed him.

Nonye's face turned serious, "Yes sir. We can take care of her here. She really doesn't want to go to an orphanage. And it could be her last wish..."

"No." Jermaine said sharply. "I have a meeting with someone around five thirty. Promise will stay through the night. I want to come back to this clinic and meet it child free. Do you understand?"

Nonye let out a sigh as she nodded slowly. "Okay sir. Thank you sir." She left the office, closing the door gently behind her.

"What was that about?" Promise asked.

"Nothing. Just some kid from that orphanage who doesn't want to do as we say. And what's worse, she has cancer."

"Wow. What kind?" Promise asked.

"I don't know." He didn't want to know. Didn't want to ask. Knowing that a girl as little as Ocean was going so much pain in life was enough for him. She reminded him of Grace, too much. He wanted to run from that memory. That's the more reason he didn't want her anywhere near him.

"But can we help her?" Promise asked. His voice turned gentle and compassionate. Promise was a sucker for kids. It was common knowledge.

"No. Six months left."

"Oh." He said.

"Yeah."

"I'd like to see her though."

"She's in one of the wards. Probably with Nonye."

"Okay then." Promise said, getting up. "Well its good to be back."

Jermaine nodded. "Good to see you too idiot." He picked a file.

Promise laughed as he left.

Jermaine's phone beeped. He picked it up and a notification flashed on the screen. It was a message from Monica. It read;

"Psyched for our dinner date! Mr. Mohmoh is coming with me! So glad you agreed to this! I love you son!"

Jermaine almost laughed. Son? Monica actually remembered he was her son. He knew what she wanted. But he wasn't going to give it to her. He'll lead her on only to disappoint her later. This woman needed to learn how to stop messing with him.
