Born in Split, where he launched his illustrious coaching career, Perasović later managed Sevilla before taking charge of Tau Cerámica (now Baskonia) for the first time. Throughout his career, he has also had stints at Estudiantes, Cibona, Efes, and Valencia, as well as serving as head coach of the Croatian national team.

He returned to Baskonia for a second term in the 2015-16 season, followed by another spell at Anadolu Efes before once again returning to the Vitoria-based outfit.

The Croatian tactician spent the last five years in charge of UNICS Kazan. His coaching honors also include a EuroCup title, won during his tenure at Valencia.

Perasović has reached an agreement with Baskonia management, putting pen to paper on a two-year contract.

During his previous stints, he lifted the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Supercup, while also leading the team to their most recent EuroLeague Final Four appearance in 2016.

Perasović will arrive in Vitoria on Thursday, leaving him very little time to get familiar with the squad. His first test comes immediately on Friday, when Baskonia travel to Bologna to take on Virtus in the EuroLeague.
