Not only did they lose a game they had in the bag, but the Spurs could soon be without Victor Wembanyama, who is now one flagrant foul away from an automatic suspension.

The French superstar picked up a flagrant foul in the third quarter of Game 4 between the Spurs and the Knicks, after striking Karl-Anthony Towns in the chin with his right elbow.

He now has three flagrant fouls in these playoffs, and the next one will trigger an automatic one-game suspension.

The incident occurred at the 9:27 mark of the third quarter. While guarding Towns on a Knicks offensive possession, Wembanyama suddenly struck Towns with his elbow during a right-hand swing.

Towns remained on the ground after taking the hit, and the Frenchman was assessed a flagrant foul after the referees reviewed the play.

Wembanyama was previously assessed a flagrant 2 foul and automatically ejected from a game after seemingly striking Minnesota Timberwolves player Naz Reid during Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals. However, he avoided a league suspension.

He also committed a questionable foul in Game 3 of the NBA Finals against Jalen Brunson. Despite reactions, the Spurs star was not penalized by the NBA.
