Sevilla secured a narrow 1-0 away victory over Deportivo La Coruña in a mid-week La Liga fixture. This result extends Sevilla's unbeaten streak against Deportivo to 14 matches, comprising eight wins and six draws.
The first half offered few scoring opportunities. However, early in the second period, the visitors found their winning goal. In the 52nd minute, Lucas Stasin embarked on a lengthy run and unleashed a shot. The ball was parried by Leo Roman but fell directly to Miguel Angel Sierra, who volleyed it home. The "Blanquirrojos" then had little trouble holding onto their lead, as in the 59th minute, following a VAR review, opposing left-back Angeliño received a straight red card for a challenge on Sierra's left calf.
With this win, Sevilla now has 13 points and climbs to fourth place in the standings. Deportivo, suffering their first loss of the season, remains in seventh position with 9 points.
