The Juventus-owned player, who spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, made significant contributions to the "Gauchos'" victories at the North American World Cup, despite primarily coming off the bench. He featured as a substitute in five of the team's six matches and was on the pitch during their dramatic wins against DR Congo, Egypt, and Switzerland.

Scaloni is also reportedly deliberating over the right-back position, where Nahuel Molina might be favored over Gonzalo Montiel. Upfront, Julian Alvarez is once again expected to lead the attack ahead of Lautaro Martinez. Alvarez scored a fantastic goal in extra time against Switzerland.
