His presence in the lineup propelled the Spurs to a 114-93 victory on Sunday, giving them a commanding 3-1 series lead against Portland in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. San Antonio remarkably overcame a 17-point halftime deficit, etching their name into NBA history.

Following two road wins in Portland, San Antonio is now just one victory away from securing their first playoff series win since 2017. This would be a maiden achievement for nearly the entire team roster, including head coach Mitch Johnson.

Wembanyama sustained a concussion in the second quarter of Game 2, forcing him to miss the remainder of that game and all of Game 3 while adhering to NBA protocol.

The 22-year-old Defensive Player of the Year and one of three MVP finalists made a spectacular comeback against Portland, tallying 27 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, seven blocks, and four steals.
