The Frenchman took a hard fall, hitting his face on the court during a post-up play. He remained on the floor for a few moments, appearing visibly dazed before heading to the locker room.

Shortly after, it was officially confirmed that he would not return to the game.

Coach Mitch Johnson commented on the incident, confirming Wembanyama sustained a concussion. He also addressed rumors about the Spurs superstar being transferred to a hospital.

I don't pay attention to those stories. All I know is that he has a concussion, he's entered the protocol, and we will, of course, take all necessary and appropriate steps.Mitch Johnson

Having entered the NBA's concussion protocol, Wembanyama must rest for at least 48 hours. He also needs to receive clearance from the team doctor, in coordination with the league's health protocols director, before he is officially eligible to play for the Spurs again.

Consequently, his availability for Game 3 against the Blazers remains uncertain.
