The Egyptian international opened the scoring at Hill Dickinson Stadium, matching club legend Steven Gerrard for the most goals (9) against their fierce rivals. Beto equalized for Everton early in the second half, but Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk netted the winning goal for the Reds in the 10th minute of stoppage time.

"It feels great, to be honest. The most important thing was to help the team settle down and stay confident, because we knew even before the game that it would be tough. I'm happy that we ultimately won it," Mohamed Salah told Sky Sports after the match.

The 33-year-old forward has just five more games before departing Liverpool at the end of the season, but he will do so as the third-highest goalscorer in the club's history, trailing only Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.

When asked if he was already reflecting on his career at Anfield, Salah responded: "No, but I want to keep scoring and help the team at least qualify for the Champions League next season. I hope I can say goodbye the right way."

This season, Mohamed Salah has not reached his usual prolific goal-scoring numbers, with only 12 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions, as reported by BTA.
