Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka could be sidelined for up to eight weeks after suffering a quadriceps injury during their midweek clash with Bayern Munich. Earlier, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remained guarded in his press conference, confirming that the England international is scheduled for another MRI scan today.
According to the BBC, initial examinations by the club's medical staff suggest Saka will be out of action for six to eight weeks. Consequently, he could miss at least 10 matches for the Gunners, including high-stakes fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham, as well as England's international encounters against Croatia and Spain.
The Arsenal academy graduate has been troubled by physical setbacks in recent months. Towards the end of last season and during his World Cup campaign with England, his workload was managed due to an Achilles problem picked up in March. Despite that, he made 49 appearances last term as Arsenal competed for the title. Alongside the Achilles issue, Saka was pulled from the lineup against Leeds in January following a hip problem sustained in the warm-up, while a hamstring injury also kept him out for around four weeks.
