3 dead as luxury bus plunges into canal in Lagos (Photos)
Three people have been confirmed dead with several others injured after a luxury bus operated by GUO Transport Company plunged into a canal in the Owode, Ikorodu area of Lagos State at about 3 am on Friday, February 17, 2017.
According to the spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), South West zone, Ibrahim Farinloye, the bus with number plate Anambra GDD 386 YE, was coming into Lagos from Enugu State, when the fatal accident occurred.
Farinloye who confirmed the incident, said the agency had been able to recover three bodies including that of the driver while many other passengers in the 48-seater bus were seriously injured and have been taken to a hospital.
This ghastly accident is coming just a day after a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), failed its brake at a busy bus stop in the Lekki area of the state, rammed into a bus causing the death of a passenger.
