Parramatta coach Brad Arthur would love Jarryd Hayne back at the club, but told the former Eels star to do what was best for him personally.

Hayne, 28, is in talks with the Australian Rugby Union over another potential code switch, having failed in his bid to play sevens for Fiji at the Olympics.

Arthur is unfazed by the former Dally M Medallist considering another code, although he would welcome Hayne back.

"That's fine. Like I said, we're really happy with our list and our squad moving forward," he told a news conference on Friday.

"If Jarryd wants to be part of that, that's great and if he doesn't, he's got to do what's best for Jarryd."

Hayne has gone from the NRL to the NFL and sevens, with his future undecided having missed out on Games selection.

Arthur told Hayne to look after his own needs, saying: "I think it's a big moment for Jarryd.

"It's up to Jarryd what he wants to do and what he wants to get out of the rest of his career. If he doesn't want to play rugby league, there's no point anyone trying to force him.

"I'm sure Parramatta, the NRL, every other club in the competition, would want Jarryd at their club, if he wants to be there."
