Real Madrid has finalized the sale of two academy prospects, Gonzalo García and César Palacios, to Fulham, according to Marca. The deal is expected to bring in €50 million for the Spanish club. The English side will pay €40 million for 70% of Gonzalo's rights and between €8 to €10 million for the same percentage of Palacios's rights.
Gonzalo's transfer to the Premier League is fully complete, while Palacios's move is awaiting the finalization of minor details, which are expected to be resolved in the coming hours, the same source reports. These two departures, desired by Arbeloa, follow the recent sale of Nico Paz to Como for €60 million. In Paz's case, Real Madrid sold 100% of his rights but secured a buy-back option set at €80 million.
Gonzalo was a priority for Arbeloa, who had already shown great confidence in the young forward last season after Xabi Alonso's departure.
Despite showing promise to José Mourinho, Gonzalo's opportunities in Real Madrid's first team would have been limited. The return of Endrick after his loan spell at Lyon, the signing of Carlos Espí from Levante, and the presence of stars like Mbappé, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Bellingham, and Valverde, all restricted his playing time. The abundance of attacking options also positions Mastantuono as another potential candidate to leave the club.
García first made his mark in the 2024/25 season, scoring 24 goals for Castilla and making a significant impact at the end of the season with the first team, netting five goals in 10 appearances. However, last season he played a secondary role, starting only 15 times in a total of 39 games, finishing the season with eight goals.
Meanwhile, Palacios had already decided his time at Castilla was coming to an end. Although he received other offers, Arbeloa's interest was decisive; it was the coach who gave him his first-team debut for Real last season.
