The biggest news of Formula 1's summer break finale is now official: former world champion Max Verstappen will remain with Red Bull, following yesterday's confirmation of his new four-year contract.
Max will spearhead Red Bull's efforts until the end of the 2030 season, with the new contract set to alter Verstappen's terms from next year onwards.
Today, Dutch media outlets released initial reports regarding Max's remuneration from 2027. His salary as the team's lead driver is expected to reach 92 million euros.
When factoring in bonuses for victories, championships, and higher championship standings, the annual sum could skyrocket to 115 million euros. Over four years, this means Max could earn a staggering 460 million euros under his new contract.
This further underscores the significant advantage for top teams that driver salaries are not subject to budget caps.
