Wife, Janay says husband knocking her out in elevator was God’s plan

Janay Palmer Rice says the elevator incident between her and the husband Ray was an act of God for them to create awareness on domestic violence.

Speaking on an American show 'Today' in her kitchen, Mrs Rice told the host Matt Lauer that there is a ‘’silver lining’’ to the incident.

"I feel like God chose me and Ray for a reason, and it was definitely to bring awareness to what people are going through every day.

"You know, it’s not what I am going through every day, but you know it’s definitely brought this topic to the forefront ... and we are OK with that," she explained

After the May incident, Ray was suspended from the NFL in September. Although he won the appeal to have the suspension lifted, he is yet to secure a job with another club and Janay says that if he any club did not accept him, that she would step in to ''be a provider'' by getting a job herself.
