On Monday, November 8th Danish giants FC Midtjylland announced that they have extended the contract of promising Nigerian youngster Raphael Onyedika.

This is the first season of Onyedika with FC Midtjylland and he has already taken the 3F Superliga by storm which led to the decision to extend his contract.

Now until the summer of 2026, the two parties have put pen to paper to sign a contract extension.

In a statement on the Midtjylland website, Onyedika revealed that he was happy to extend his contract after a year on loan at FC Fredericia last season.

He said,  "It feels really good to sign a new contract in Central Jutland. I'm happy and proud of that, but most of all I'm grateful for the club and all that they have done for me in recent years. I would like to pay that back by helping the team in every match.

"It's a great team to be a part of. There are many talented teammates and coaches and they have really contributed to my development this season. I'm sure it will continue.

"Of course I have ambitions to be as good as possible and play in a big league one day. But right now I just focus on being in Central Jutland and helping the team to victory. I hope to win titles here and that is the biggest goal this season."

Onyedika has been a revelation in the UEFA Youth League and tipped to become a dynamic midfielder like compatriot Frank Onyeka formerly at the club but now in the Premier League with Brentford.
