The Director General, Kaduna State Interfaith Council, Mr Namadi Musa, says arbitrary increase in the price of goods and services during the Ramadan is anti Islam.

Musa made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Thursday.

“It is unfortunate that traders are using the Ramadan period to exploit people rather than help them."

“In a civilized world, prices of goods and services remain stable during festivities, but it is unfortunate that prices of goods and services are usually on the high side in Nigeria during festivities,’’ he said.

According to him, the council has started advocating for the introduction of price control mechanism in Kaduna state to check the excesses of traders.

He said the issue of price control should be embraced across the country.

Musa appealed to marketers to always have the fear of God and refrain from acts that would add to the suffering of the people.
