"Queen of Divorce" Aids Dončić: Slovenian Basketball Star's Ex-Fiancée Withdraws Outrageous Alimony Claim

The legal battle between basketball sensation Luka Dončić and his former fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, has taken a new turn. Goltes's alimony request against Dončić has been officially dismissed, with the hearing marked by a sharp verbal exchange between attorneys, as reported by American media.

The proceedings took place in a Los Angeles court, where Luka Dončić was represented by the renowned attorney Laura Wasser, famously known as the "Queen of Divorce." Wasser immediately stated her belief that the entire case was unnecessarily initiated, adding that Goltes and her representative had needlessly "wasted her client's time."

She then directly addressed Anamaria Goltes's attorney, asking if his client had already requested the dismissal of the case. The attorney confirmed that a dismissal request had been filed on August 3rd but was returned due to an administrative error. The judge subsequently granted the request for dismissal without prejudice, leaving open the possibility for Anamaria Goltes to refile the case in the future.
This legal dispute garnered public attention in early March when the Slovenian star's former fiancée filed a request for alimony. Public documents at the time confirmed that the couple, long considered one of the most harmonious in the sports world, had definitively ended their relationship.
Dončić soon after hired Laura Wasser, one of America's most respected divorce attorneys. Her team sought to dismiss the proceedings, arguing that the request was intentionally filed in California to allow Goltes to exploit the state's laws, which provide for exceptionally high alimony amounts.
However, on August 3rd, Goltes requested to withdraw her claim, stating her desire to resolve the dispute amicably, in the best interest of their children. American media speculated that Goltes had allegedly sought as much as $40 million from Dončić to reach an agreement and conclude the custody dispute.
