Fans hopes for a victory has however, been dashed by Nigeria’s coach Stephen keshi who in a recent interview came out to say that he cannot guarantee a victory against Bosnia and has maintained that he will only do what he can as a coach and leave things he can’t control to God.
In his statement, he said ““Even the best coaches in the world cannot tell you they will win before the game. We will try to prepare ourselves; we will work together and see what happens.”
Keshi has admitted that the games at the World Cup have been quite unpredictable and that despite their efforts at winning, the super Eagles will have to accept whatever happens at the end of the game.
If we take a look at the general performance of most African countries, Ghana and Cameroon lost their first games with only Cote d’ivore managing a victory. It gives cause for worry that Keshi cannot promise a victory against Bosnia. Could it be that Keshi is already making excuses in case the Super Eagles don’t make it through to the next round? We’ll just have to wait and see.
