Readers say Psquare are the most successful Eastern musicians

The artiste from Eastern Nigeria are here to stay.

With the Nigerian music industry being dominated by infusions from our indigenous languages, we have seen a fine line of success enjoyed predominantly by two tribes: Igbo and Yoruba.

The Igbos are peculiar for their Highlife origins, and that has evolved into globally accepted music. Leading the charge are a number of artistes who have successfully conquered the Nigerian market with talent, business acumen, hit songs, and strategic partnerships.

Pulse Nigeria conducted a poll sampling the opinions of our readers, and asking who the most successful artiste from the east are. The results are below.

Psquare came out tops. The Okoye twins have successful spent in excess of a decade in the music industry, with a greater part of that time sitting at the top of African music. An overwhelming 56% of people who participated in the survey chose Peter and Paul.

Man candy, Flavour comes in at the second position. The sexy Highlife singer is regarded as the second most successful Eastern artiste by 29% of voters.

Surprise surprise! Phyno comes at a distant 3 position after being chosen by a paltry 9% of voters. The ‘Oringo’ rapper and successful Hip-hop artiste with numerous brand deals and sponsorship affiliation clearly isn’t rated as successful as Flavour and Psquare.

IllBliss and Bracket are in the next positions.  With 7 percent of votes almost equally shared.

Wizboyy sits at the bottom. He scored a surprising number votes which sum up into the absolute figure: 0.
