Funbi could easily be termed 'the cover boy' given the number of songs he's voiced over, including Ed Sheeran's '', Mr Eazi's' Skin tight' among others.
But his musical talent and aptitude is way beyond these cover songs, Funbi has got his own rich catalogue of songs - from solos to collaborations, such as and Sexy b*tch' both housed under the Collectiv3 LP project.
Currently, he released a single titled 'Hallelujah' which's been getting good airplay.
Funbi is by no means a new comer in the music industry, this article is attempting to set the focus on him as an act you should play closer attention to.
Pulse throws some questions at the singer to let his fans and potential ones get more familiar and find out what his plans are for the future regarding his music career amongst other things.
We at Pulse have got to listen to quite a few of your cover songs, would you say it's some sort of strategy to gather fans or what's the idea behind it?
Yeah, I think covers are a way to win over new listeners mainly because  even though they don't really know who you are, you're singing something they already know or care about. It wasn't really much of a strategy but I'm glad it got people's attention.
When did you professionally start recording music?
Well, I had my very first studio session in 2004... but I'm not sure I would call that professional.
Did you take singing lessons or music classes to hone your craft?
Not exactly, but I was always made to sing Christmas carols in the church choir when I was younger... does that count?
You’ve released a number of songs years back, what do you plan doing with those songs?
Those songs are part of my growth, my journey to where I am now. Thank God for the internet, it's always gonna be there for anyone to reach or vibe to.
Are you still signed to Top Left Entertainment?
No, I'm not.
When can we expect a body of work from you?
I'm working on putting an EP out before the end of the year. Fingers crossed.
Having any challenges with the music structure in the industry right now?
I believe in building with whatever is available with you at the time as long as it brings some form of growth.
So, any potential industry challenges so far have probably been eclipsed by working with people or channels I'm sure of or have some form of control over.
What's the big picture for your music career?
The big picture is to bring cultures together with my music, to put down a legacy and be recognised as one of the greatest to ever do it!
