M.I Abaga has denied reports that Milli has left Chocolate City.
The CEO of Chocolate City has been in the news recently when reports broke out that one of his highly rated protégé has parted ways with his record label.
The rapper was signed by M.I Abaga to Loopy Music in 2013, but made a splash during the 2015 merger of the record label with Chocolate City as one of the artistes who were officially signed.
He went on to release a number of singles under the record label, including featuring on their 2015 compilation album, ‘The Indestructible Choc Boi Nation’.
Recent reports state that the rapper has left Chocolate City, restrategizing, working on new material on a new imprint titled UpNext Universe. He has already shot new videos for his songs.
Another report by E247 Mag had also alleged that the rapper had fought with his friend and Chcocolate City Vice President Ice Prince. The report also alleged that Chocolate City music was run by MI’s sister, Sarah and his girlfriend, Erica Okundaye, who serves as Human Resources Manager.
“Milli has not left Chocolate City,” M.I said. He further denied the alleged fight with Ice Prince saying “Ice Prince and I did not fight nor have we fought in 5 years at least.”
On the issue of women running his firm, the rapper states that “As a forward thinking company we employ women and are happy to announce that women do work in our company and are an active part of moving our company forward. We believe all companies should.
M.I yesterday released a new mixtape “Illegal Music 3”, and has had to deal with conversations and reports about instability in his firm. He remains positive, and reveals his lack of knowledge on why these stories are emanating.
“Why are these stories emanating? I have never engaged in the business of lies and hence do not understand the mindset behind liars. However all is well within Chocolate City.”
Chocolate City Music has 7 projects planned for 2015, with works from Loose Kaynon, Ruby Gyang, and M.I already released.
