In Nigeria, we are constantly exposed to sexism with our parents even playing a big role – by making sons feel entitled and pushing daughters towards submission.

And that’s why feminism is important in our society today. However, many Nigerians aren’t even educated well enough to understand the concept of feminism.

Because the Nigerian feminist movement has reduced the discussion to argument about cooking, baby bump and do not call me ‘female’.
